What is this course about

Functional Anatomy is the study of human anatomy in relation it’s function, with a focus on voluntary body movements and actions. This course will focus on anatomical terminologies, bone anatomy, joints, names and locations of major skeletal and muscle groups, together with the main movements they are responsible for. Activities and worksheets are put in place to aid in the practice of naming anatomical structures.

Learners will be able to use anatomical terminologies when naming body parts and movements. Learners will also be able to describe bone anatomy, growth and remodeling, understanding how the skeletal system adapts to stress and loading. The knowledge of major skeletal and muscle groups alongside the movements they produce will also be attained.

Learners will gain a deeper understanding of the human body and the role of the skeletal and muscular system in producing integrated day-to-day movements.
